Joy will surely come

Psalm 30, verse 5 says: ‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning’. Challenges are part of life and if you live long enough, you will run into difficult times, but there are no more comforting and hopeful words than these because they bring solace to us, whatever our situation in life. The verse fills us with hope, resilience, and the promise of God's eventual joy after times of sorrow and difficulty, even in the darkest of nights.
We are never alone in our troubles. Psalm 46, verse 1 tells us that ‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.’ Once we recognise that we don’t have to carry all our burdens alone in our hearts, the heaviness lifts! The hope and reassurance that as children of God he is always watching over us sets us free from worry and turns our hearts to faith and trust instead.
I know from my own experience that nothing in the bright sunlight of a new day is ever as dire as it seemed in the darkness of the night before. The hope of a new day is real. Even when our circumstance is still just as it was the day before, there’s a clarity of mind and a different perspective that comes when we wake up, knowing that our heavenly Father is in the driving wheel of our lives. What is a surprise to us is never a surprise to God. He knows how it will all end, and he is for you, not against you.
When the night feels hopeless, it is a gift to be able to rest in the hope of the morning joy that is sure to come. Stay blessed.
